Built in the 60s years consisted of a garage floor and two residential floors with protruding balconies. With the conversion, the southern residential areas expanded and better lit. Kitchen and living room on the ground floor, and the two rooms above were added to the balcony depth. Geometrical and material language of the existing building and its facades were plastered hole continued and re-interpreted. The horizontal band of windows on the ground floor allows a generous exposure of the living rooms all day. By installing quality windows and insulation (mineral foam-WD) of the entire building envelope, the house was improved energy. The house has recently connected to the local district heating plant.
The project was awarded in November 2006 " price for energy efficient renovations " by the Office of Energy Saving in cooperation with, the Office of architectural and art monuments of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano - South Tyrol and under the auspices the Foundation of the Chamber of architects, interior designers, landscape designers and conservationists of the Province of Bolzano.

"The project of Luke Wieland convinced the jury in all aspects of the assessment criteria. The new facades create a contemporary modern cube on which the stock remains readable. The inclusion in the ensemble is considered positive. Technically, the building has excellent energy values. The project is proposed as the winners and unanimously adopted. "
