Sr. Bernardina M. (Anna Katharina) Ledergerber, from St. Joseph, in St. Gallen, was in St. Fiden 23 Born October 1801 and baptized. Already in early youth, she had an extraordinary propensity to solitude and prayer. In the convent she provided several posts with great care and loyalty. Even with 31 years, she enjoyed so much the trust of their fellow sisters that they they make mother chooses and afterwards a 2nd and 3 Time was re-elected. Full 9 years, from 1832 to 1941, she was the mother of the convent, for all concerned, this quiet and serene, the sisters with a mother's devoted love, so that all depended on her. The Lord has honored his servant with his holy wounds, different personalities testify before God, to have seen them, including two Conventual of Einsiedeln: the famous physicist P. Athanas Tschopp and good spirit man Claudius P. Perrot. - But valuable as these wounds were deep humility and filial obedience of the servant of God. She prayed that the Lord remove the wounds again, which they distinguish from the world and you could be the case. These two virtues they characterize as a true saint and a true devotee of the Virgin Mary. As a special pledge of the grace of Mary looked at her mother's copy of the miraculous image of Einsiedeln, which they got from the former Stiftsabt Celestine I. Müller. On 21 November 1834 struck Mary in the chapel of the monastery on their shrine and offered many oppressed wunderbare Erhörung.
Sr. Bernardina starb am 10. Mai 1847 eines sanften, seligen Todes. Im Kloster vererbte sich bis zur heutigen Stunde die Auffassung, diese Schwester sei eine heiligmäßige Ordensfrau gewesen. Auch viele Außenstehende, u. a. der Visitator Abt Franziskus Fröhlicher von Fischingen, schrieben und sprachen über sie mit großer Verehrung. - Mehrere Persönlichkeiten, welche in jüngster Zeit Kenntnis nahmen von ihrem hl. Leben und ihre Schriften lasen, wünschten dringend, man möchte die Dienerin Gottes beim Volke bekannt machen. - Möge sie der Allmächtige verherrlichen und sie recht vielen Menschen von heute zum Leitstern des Lebens und zur Helferin in den vielen Nöten der Gegenwart werden lassen.

Heilige Maria! Dich hat Sr. Bernardina in kindlicher Liebe verehrt, sie hat verehrt und geliebt Deine Demut, Deinen Gehorsam, Deine makellose Reinheit, sie hat darnach verlangt, Dir in ihrem Kloster eine Wohnstätte bereiten zu dürfen, und Du hat ihr Bitten wohlgefällig erhört. - Höre nun auch mit Wohlgefallen auf unser Flehen und erlange bei Deinem göttlichen Sohne Jesus Christus, dass er seine treue Dienerin verherrlichen möge zur Ehre seines göttlichen Namens, zur Neubelebung Deiner Verehrung in den christlichen Familien, zur Erbauung und zum Troste der heutigen Menschheit. O Blessed Virgin Mary, you stand all the moments before the throne of the Most Holy Trinity and is allowed to ask for us at all times, my all hours remember when your favorite son, pray for me, so I am often required, with me, fight for me, thank you for me, and attain pardon me all my sins, especially in my last hour, help me, and if I do not see, hear no more, no longer able to speak, then most merciful mother, then help me, comforting me, show me the blessed fruit of thy womb, show, that you are my mother, my true and merciful mother, though I am your unworthy child, and plead my poor soul in the eternal blessedness to praise God with you and all the saints forever. Amen.
